Backpack Trip: Hickory Creek Wilderness (PA)
Date: May 21-23, 2010
Depart: 6pm Friday from ACDC parking lot.
Return: Sunday to ACDC parking lot. Will pass around cell phones when we are 1 hr. away.
Activity:
The trail is a 12 mile loop in a wilderness area. Camping is permitted anywhere along the trail, but using established campsites is reccomended. Campfires are allowed, but discouraged. We will likely add another short trail Friday evening or Sunday afternoon.
Water:
There is plenty of treatable water along most of the trail. You should carry 1-2 liters.
Meals:
Bring/cook your own backpacking meals. (No more than 1-2lbs./day) If you have a lightweight backpacking stove, bring it. Minimum 1 stove per 4 backpackers.
Shelter:
Bring a personal lightweight backpacking tent/tarp/hammock or
carry & share a Troop tent, with another Scout.
Weather:
Highs in mid 70's, lows in the 50's, 40% chance of rain & thunderstorms.
Keep an eye on the weather forecast & adjust your gear accordingly.
